What it means
Recognized by Shopify,
measured in merchant results.
How the tiers work
Five tiers. Each one earned.
Every Shopify partner starts at Registered. The tiers above it are earned through demonstrated commercial impact, and each step up reflects more scale and more complex merchants.
-
Registered
The starting point, with access to Shopify's core partner tools.
-
Select
Consistently bringing new merchants to Shopify and supporting their early success.
-
Plus Our tier
Delivering results across more complex merchant needs, including Plus and enterprise stores.
-
Premier
Consistent, high-impact outcomes across larger and more complex merchant environments.
-
Platinum
Operating at scale with sustained impact across enterprise merchants.
Tiers are assigned by Shopify from Shopify-verified partner activity and update quarterly. Tier descriptions from the Shopify Partner Program tiering guide, Q4 2026.
Plus when you need it.
Standard when you don't.
Questions
Plus Partner,
in plain terms.
01 What is a Shopify Plus Partner?
It's a tier in the Shopify Partner Program. Shopify places agencies in one of five tiers (Registered, Select, Plus, Premier and Platinum) based on the merchant revenue they drive and the new merchants they bring to Shopify. Every tier above Registered is earned through results; it isn't something an agency can buy.
02 Is this the same as being a Shopify Expert?
Shopify Experts was the name Shopify used for its directory of vetted agencies, and it's where this page started. Shopify now ranks partners through the tiered Partner Program, and a listing in its Partner Directory starts at the Plus tier. See our Shopify Partner Directory listing.
03 Do I need to be on Shopify Plus to work with you?
No. We build on every Shopify plan, and we'll only recommend Plus when your business needs what it adds: B2B, checkout extensibility, Shopify Functions, expansion stores, or the sales volume to justify the cost.
04 What does the tier mean for my project?
It means Shopify has verified that the stores we build and support are growing on its platform. In practice, you get a team that has run complex Shopify work (migrations, integrations, B2B and launches) many times before yours.
