The idea
Sending shoppers to a separate cart page every time they add something breaks their browsing. A flyout cart opens over the page they're on, confirms what's in it, suggests what goes with it and gets out of the way.
How it works for shoppers
- Opens right where they are. On Lilla P, adding the V-Neck Elbow Sleeve Sweater slides the cart in from the side, with the product page still behind it.
- Change it on the spot. Quantities can go up or down, items can be removed and a discount code can be added without leaving.
- Suggestions that fit. You May Also Like shows matching pieces, like a collared cardigan, with Choose Options right there.
- Fast ways to pay. Check Out sits next to Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay buttons, with the subtotal and installment options shown.
Why it works
- Shopping keeps going. Shoppers confirm the add and carry on browsing instead of starting over from a cart page.
- Bigger baskets. A good suggestion at the moment of adding is the easiest upsell there is.
- Quicker checkout. Express payment buttons are one tap from the cart.
