The idea
Anyone holding a gift card eventually asks the same question: how much is left on this? Shopify doesn't include a public page to answer it, so customers either email you, call you, or start a checkout just to find out. A balance page on your own store answers it in a few seconds.
How it works for shoppers
- One field, one button. The customer types their code and taps Check Balance.
- Easy to type. The code groups itself into blocks of four as they type, the same way it's printed on the card, so it's easy to check for mistakes.
- Shows where to look. An image of the back of the card points out exactly where the code is.
- The real balance. The answer comes straight from Shopify, so it always matches what checkout will accept.

Why it works
- Fewer support questions. "What's my balance?" stops being an email your team has to answer.
- Gift cards get spent. A customer who knows they have $64 left has a reason to come back and use it.
- Made for printed cards. When cards go out by mail or at events, people don't have an email receipt to look back at. The page is where they go.
- Nothing extra to pay for. No app subscription and no extra script loading on every page of the store.
