A homepage collage instead of a slideshow

An editorial grid of big product photos, category names and one standout message, so the homepage shows the range at a glance.

The idea

Homepage slideshows show one message at a time, and most visitors never see past the first slide. A collage puts several categories and a headline on screen together, with photography doing the selling.

How it works for shoppers

  • Tiles that go somewhere. On gemlux.com, photo tiles labeled Steering Wheels, Seasucker Cam Cleat, Rigging and How-To's each lead to their part of the site.
  • One standout message. A tall center tile carries the brand line, Demand the Best, with a button to The GEMLUX Advantage.
  • Different sizes, one layout. Large and small tiles mix like a magazine spread, so the page feels designed rather than templated.

Why it works

  • The range is visible right away. Shoppers see several categories without waiting for a slide to change.
  • Great photos get room. Product photography is the strongest thing many brands have, and a collage shows it big.
  • It mixes shopping and story. Category tiles and brand messages sit side by side, so the homepage does both jobs.

What we build

A collage section your team can rearrange in the theme editor: choose the photos, headlines and links for each tile, and swap them as the seasons change. Read the GEMLUX case study.
